Check Out These Bath Vanities Made From Old Wine Barrels

Though we find it a little annoying that the whole green movement has been exploited, we still do like eco products that make sense and love those that incorporate old materials. We’ve found a new one: the Vintner’s Collection of vanities and accessories that are made from salvaged winemaking materials. The company that produces these wonders, Native Trails, takes U.S. oak barrels and staves from the Central Coast wine region and turns them into vanities and mirrors.

The Cabernet (made from red wine making oak staves) and Chardonnay (white wine making oak staves) vanities are a pair of craftsman-style products that are wire brushed, sanded, and rubbed with a custom-blended wax or a low volatile organic compound finish. Both measure 36 inches wide and feature full-extension shelves. Cabernet $2,598; Chardonnay $2,498.

Ideal for small bathrooms, powder rooms, or a wine room, the Bordeaux wall-mount vanity is sure to be a conversation starter. To create each piece, artisans disassemble an old wine barrel, cut it down to ideal size, reassemble the slats, and then sand and finish the piece. It measures 24 inches wide and costs $1,298.
