'Congratulations to Spanish tile manufacturer Togama More Than Mosaic. Their booth recently won Best in Show at Coverings 13 held in Atlanta, Georgia. Togama combines art and technology to make glass mosaic tiles that contain recycled glass. They offer some of the deepest red glass tiles available, as well as innovative new matte finishes. Here are some pictures of the Togama booth.

However, a week or so ago I had a new experience in our 58th Street showroom. We were quietly working away when the alarms in our building started screeching. Because this is New York, everyone carried on as if nothing was wrong.

'It''s Memorial Day weekend in NYC, and for the first time in my memory, the streets are empty of sailors on shore leave; thanks to the sequester-mandated budget cuts, Fleet Week has been canceled. During WW2, though, no expense was spared to supply submarine crews with the best food the Navy could muster. It looks like dinner is about to be served from the cramped galley of the USS Cuttlefish, which saw service in the Pacific.
