Furniture Week 2012, Day 2: The Joinery

Marc Gaudin founded The Joinery over 30 years ago to focus on restoration work, but his business, as he puts it, “quickly blossomed into designing and building furniture.” Today, the Portland, Ore.-based company does custom kitchens and built-ins, custom furniture, and sells stock items for the bedroom, dining room, and office. The company has been busy. It has added the option for consumers to buy furniture and accessories on its website, and it has “scaled up our kitchen and built-in cabinet division. We offer shop tours and woodworking classes and we now have a machine that takes our waste shavings and creates briquettes to burn,” the company says. I know some architects and interior designers who have done business with the company, and they say The Joinery is very professional and  adept at what it does. Take a quick visit to the website–or peep the images below–and you get the picture.
