GuildSan Diego—Duchateau, a luxury architectural surfaces brand, introduced its first SPC line of flooring. The new Kindred collection features ten colors and boasts low maintenance/high livability.

“This is a high-spec and low-maintenance product that is perfect for the homeowner looking for an easy-living but high-style floor,” said Patrick Bewley, vice president of marketing.

The flooring features wide 9-inch planks, 60 inches in length. According to the company, careful attention was paid to both the look and feel of the floor. “We know all the beauty that wood can provide and are experts at bringing those unique colors to life at Duchateau,” Bewley said. “We created LVT styles that embody these nuances of color and tone.”

Duchateau said it chose to make Kindred an SPC product so that customers can benefit from the stability it offers. The 3L TripleLock click system was selected to make installation as fast and easy as possible. To make sure it feels great underfoot, the Kindred collection also features a 1.5mm IXPE foam backing, which is 50% thicker than standard LVT, according to the company.

“Our retailers are telling us what their customers request,” said Rick Wagner, vice president of sales. “Minimal pattern repeat, hyper-realistic wood visuals and embossing in register all made the list. Kindred not only offers all three, but really checks every box when it comes to the specifications customers want.”

According to Wagner, Waterproof is a key selling feature for LVT. Not only is Kindred waterproof, it is also stain and scratch resistant. The ten colors that make up the initial Kindred collection cover a wide range of tones. Finn is a pale white with subtle variation while Blake is the darkest color, mixing dark ash tones with a chocolate brown.

New Hardwood

Duchateau also added a fresh perspective to its hardwood offerings for The Guild, adding five colors to the popular Lineage Series of engineered wood UV-lacquer finished flooring.

Duchateau said it created The Guild Hardwood to provide millennials and first-time homeowners with high-style flooring at affordable prices.

“While the LVT story is getting most of the headlines, there continues to be a strong market for the high-fashion wood floor visuals offered in our Lineage Series,” Bewley said.
