annual convention and expoOrlando, Fla.—The Certified Flooring Installers Association (CFI) opened registration for the 29th Annual Convention and Expo, held Aug. 2-4 here at Rosen Shingle Creek. The premier event, themed “Elevate—take your career to the next level,” aims to connect, educate, entertain and inspire floor covering installation professionals to elevate their skills, businesses and the profession.

Since 1993, CFI’s Annual Convention and Expo has brought together installers, manufacturers, suppliers and retailers from across the globe to stay up to date on best practices and new techniques, network with peers, obtain certifications, attend hands-on training and stay informed on the latest tools and services available, according to the company. In addition to educational seminars and workshops, CFI will host its 3rd annual golf tournament at the Shingle Creek Golf Club.

CFI’s 2022 Convention and Expo education lineup features a wide-ranging program starting with an opening session on Tuesday with Scott Humphrey, CEO, WFCA. Jim Aaron, executive director of the Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF), will deliver the keynote message “The FCEF – An Agent for Change.”

In addition to the keynote speaker, the agenda will include several additional featured speakers, panel discussions, hands-on sessions and opportunities to network before and after the conference, according to the company. Thursday marks the opening of the Exhibit Hall, where leading industry manufacturers and service providers will showcase their latest products and services that help attendees further develop their professional and technical skills.

“If you are a flooring installation professional, the CFI Convention and Expo is the place you need to be to elevate your career to the next level,” Humphrey said. “There is no other convention like it—CFI is a tight-knit group of hard-working, loyal and proud individuals who are driven by the pursuit of excellence. This experience will make attendees more confident and excited to be in this industry. You do not want to miss it!”

According to John McHale, operations manager, CFI, attendance at the convention is open to both members and non-members. “Last year, we saw a record 73 first-time attendees who were inspired by this group’s enthusiasm, support and camaraderie,” McHale said. “The connections made here with manufacturers and peers only happen when people come together.”
