Mohawk Roadshow builds ‘Momentum’

Less than a month before the first of seven Mohawk Momentum Roadshow events commences, retailers are urged to register now for what Mohawk promises will be an extravaganza of new and innovate products.

Highlights will include the new SolidTech Premier with Signature HDX, which, according to Mohawk, will have the highest degree of color clarity of any products in the market. Mohawk is positioning SolidTech Premier with Signature HDX as the best-looking SPC on the market. Retail price points will be lower than WPC but higher than RevWood, the company’s successful laminate offering.

Executives including Jeff Meadows, president of residential sales, are encouraging dealers to sign up early. The first event is scheduled for Jan. 4-5 at The Hotel at Avalon in Alpharetta, Ga., outside Atlanta. “Come to a road show in the first week of January and you will see the new products first and be able to place your sample orders or pallets—and you will be in business,” Meadows told Floor Covering News. “Instead of waiting you can jump-start your business by three to four extra months and get your products that much faster.”

Early registrants can also secure time with Mohawk sales reps and take advantage of VIP Surfaces registration.

Meadows said there is good reason why retailers should give Mohawk more of their business. “You can make more money selling Mohawk product than anybody else.”

He cited three examples:

  • Karastan’s limited distribution;
  • Mohawk is the only manufacturer that carries the SmartStrand fiber and controls distribution, which benefits dealers;
  • As for RevWood, “we’re the only ones who have it. We can help control the distribution for the dealer.”

Mohawk’s previous roadshows were well attended, with events (outside of Surfaces) held in more intimate settings. “At a roadshow, you can spend some serious time in our space; you can spend half a day if you’d like or you can spend an hour and get the whys of products and so forth,” Meadows explained.

For Bruce Odette, president of Carpet Exchange in Denver, the Dallas market (Jan. 11-12, 2024) is his go-to event. Odette has already gotten a glimpse at the new offerings and said his favorite is LuxeCraft Willow Estate from Karastan hard surface. “It is a 7.5 x 60 EIR textured LVP,” he said. “It has four clean oak visuals with their new natural bevel. This is a value-driven product that has a completely different look than the original LuxeCraft.”

The Mohawk Momentum Roadshow 2024 will stop in the following cities:

  • Jan. 4-5: Atlanta, The Hotel at Avalon
  • Jan. 10-11: Washington, D.C., MGM Grand
  • Jan. 11-12: Dallas, Courtyard Townplace Suites Marriott Grapevine
  • Jan. 17-18: Chicago, Sheraton Grand
  • Jan. 24-26: Las Vegas (Surfaces), Mandalay Bay
  • Jan. 31-Feb. 1: Huntington Beach, Calif., Waterfront Beach Resort
  • Feb. 7-8: Toronto, Toronto Airport Marriott

“These events give us the opportunity to push the industry in a direction that is paved with innovation, collaboration and growth,” Meadows added.
