Chicago—The North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD) has opened registration for its annual University of Innovative Distribution (UID) event. The event will take place March 8-11 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Indianapolis, Ind.

UID is a concentrated educational program focused on the unique needs of the wholesale distribution channel and developed in cooperation with the department of technology leadership and innovation of Purdue University. This is NAFCD’s 13thyear co-sponsoring the UID event with related distributor-based associations.

“The annual University of Innovative Distribution is NAFCD’s cornerstone educational offering,” saidKevin Gammonley, executive vice president, NAFCD. “UID features an impressive line-up of presenters and topics every year, and evaluations are always extremely high.”

The event features some of the brightest minds in distribution management and strategy providing attendees with a deep dive into a variety of topics. During the 2020 event, 56 unique, half-day courses are featured over four days, allowing attendees to tailor their schedule to fit their personal interests and experience. Courses are grouped in one of six education tracks: Distribution Strategy, Leadership and Professional Development, Management, Marketing, Operations and Sales. In addition, instructors have assigned a level of complexity to their course: Foundational, Intermediate or Advanced.

The event traditionally attracts over 600 professionals looking to grow their knowledge and careers, including distribution professionals working in management and executive positions, and manufacturers who have responsibility for managing a distribution network.

“This is the most cost-effective opportunity for a distributorship to offer their people world-class education and training,” Gammonley said. “Those individuals that have been identified as emerging leaders within the distributorship regularly get invited by executive management to attend UID.”
