Crossville, Tenn.—Domestic tile manufacturer, Crossville, is a tile supplier and sponsor of this year’s Flower magazine Showhouse located near Birmingham, Ala. The current issue of Flower magazine features the story of this house along with images and information about the Crossville collections chosen for the home’s two bathrooms.

With a special connection to Flower’s editor-in-chief, Margot Shaw, this year’s Flower magazine Showhouse is her personal home located in Bibb County. Shaw assembled architect, Pete Pritchard, interior designer, Mary Evelyn McKee, and landscape architect, Ben Page, to aide her in creating a simple, elegant fieldstone farmhouse.

Crossville collections were specified for the home’s two bathrooms. In the master bathroom, McKee chose Crossville’s Altered State in Steel Gaze for the main floor and White Hot for the shower walls. This tile is crafted to mimic oxidized steel and blends with the other natural tones in the space. To complement the shower walls, McKee selected one of Crossville’s natural stone collections, Yin + Yang in Lotus Blossom, for the shower bench and shower floor. The mesh-mounted mosaics offer simple installation and slip resistance while bringing variation in color, movement and texture.

For the guest bathroom, McKee again chose Crossville’s Altered State in Steel Gaze for the floor and Yin + Yang in Lotus Blossom for the shower floor. McKee utilized Crossville’s Handwritten collection for its nuanced look of handmade, artisanal tile to add a bold yet beautiful element to the small space. Working closely with the tile installer, McKee and the team created a custom pattern of 3 x 6 gothic picket and leaf mosaic tiles in Inkwell. This pattern and the dark blue color add a touch of drama amid the earthy neutrals that define the space.
