Dalton—Shaw Industries has been named an award finalist in the Consumer-Activated Corporate Donation category of the 2022 Halo Awards for its St. Jude Cushion collection benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Hosted by Engage for Good, the Halo Awards are North America’s highest honor for corporate social impact initiatives that showcase outstanding consumer engagement or employee engagement efforts.

“Our St. Jude Cushion collection offers a compelling story that goes beyond the product’s performance, empowering consumers to take part in the research hospital’s life-saving mission of ending childhood cancer,” explained Jon England, Shaw’s vice president of enterprise accessories. “Thanks to our retailers, this program has raised over $1 million in donations last year alone and more than $7 million since it began in 2013. We’re honored to be an award finalist alongside St. Jude, especially as we celebrate our 10-year partnership.”

Forty campaigns were announced as finalists in 10 Halo Award categories, and Shaw is the only flooring manufacturer to make the list, the company said. The winners of the 2022 Halo Awards will be announced on May 18 at the Engage for Good Conference in Atlanta.

Since 2012, Shaw Floors has raised more than $16 million to support the research hospital’s life-saving mission of finding cures and saving children, crediting much of this success to the overwhelming support of its dedicated retailers, associates, media partners and suppliers. Over time, the partnership has evolved into a multi-faceted program that touches nearly every aspect of the brand’s business, including:

  • National Dream Home Sponsor: Since 2012, Shaw Floors has been a national sponsor and exclusive flooring provider of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Every year Shaw Floors’ products are featured in more than 40 houses around the country.
  • Cushion for St. Jude Collection: These products offer comfort and durability and $0.18 per square yard sold is donated directly to the research hospital. According to Shaw and its retail partners, approximately $1 million is collectively donated each year from cushion sales.
  • Clean for a Cause: Shaw Floors’ Hard Surface Cleaner and Carpet Cleaner donate $0.25 per bottle sold and each mop kit sale donates $0.50 directly to the research hospital.
  • St. Jude Heroes program: Shaw associates, customers and media partners run for a reason at the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend each year in December. Since 2013, Shaw said it raised more than $795,000 for the event, while Shaw Floors is also a gold-level sponsor of the annual event.
