Flooring Markets to enhance safety measures

Marietta, Ga.—The Flooring Markets will be taking place in early 2021 with new safety measures put into place as part of its Safe-Visit Initiative.

The Safe Visit Initiative will include the HealthShield Bot, a mobile COVID-19 health screening for events. Upon entry to market, all attendees and exhibitors will be required to complete a screening on their mobile devices. Once the screening is complete, a pass or fail score will appear based on the answers submitted. Attendees and exhibitors must show a passing score to enter the market.

“Our team is working diligently with convention center executives, vendors and state and local authorities to design a market that will be comfortable and successful for everyone,” said managing partner of MME, Barbara Stroup. “The health and well-being of our attendees, exhibitors, staff and vendor partners is our top priority and we have strategically crafted our Safe Visit Initiative to ensure everyone’s safety.”

Pre-registration required

In order to facilitate a safe environment, all attendees and exhibitors are required to pre-register. Registration is complimentary. Badges will be printed and mailed in advance.

Staggered arrival times

To properly manage traffic flow and ensure safe, physical distancing, attendees will be required to choose a specific arrival time during the pre-registration process. The first hour of both market days will be designated for at-risk attendees.

Additional safety measures include:

  • Masks will be required inside the market facility.
  • Graphic reminders will be in place throughout the markets to remind everyone to comply with safe physical distancing standards of six feet, frequent and proper hand washing and controlled traffic flow.
  • Sanitation stations will be located in key areas around the market floor.
  • Daily, heightened cleaning of all public spaces, exhibit halls and registration areas will be enforced.
  • Aisles have been increased in width and frequency.

“At this time, it’s mandatory for all attendees, exhibitors, building staff and show management to wear face masks inside each exhibition facility and maintain appropriate physical distancing,” Stroup said. “Masks will be available at registration upon request.”

The Flooring Markets does require all persons registering for the markets to agree to and comply with its strict Code of Conduct to ensure that its events comply with all current group meeting standards.

In addition, The AT&T Stadium, Home of the Southwest Flooring Market, as well as the DFW International Airport are GBAC Star Accredited Facilities. The Cobb Galleria Centre (CGC), home of the Southeast Flooring Market, has implemented its own Safety-First Plan. Also, the Mississippi Coast Convention Center, home of the Gulf Coast Flooring Market, has deployed new building standards.
