Chattanooga, Tenn.—Happy Feet International, a producer of luxury vinyl plank and tile headquartered here, welcomed three team members to its management team. Scott Jones, John Thompson and Andy Friedlander are the company’s new territory sales managers for south and east Texas and eastern North Carolina.

“Happy Feet is experiencing steady growth and we are successful because of our people and our commitment to the work that we do,” said CEO, Casey Johnson. “Every new employee we bring on is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about flooring, and we are really excited to have them on board with us.”

Scott Jones

Scott Jones is Happy Feet’s new territory sales manager for the east Texas region. He has 28 years of experience in the sales and installation of all types of flooring. His vast knowledge of flooring also includes business operations and strategic sales growth.

Previously, Jones worked as a sales agent for Regal Hardwoods in an undeveloped territory serving Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. Within two years, he helped increase annual sales of hardwood from $350,000 to $1,350,000.

John Thompson

Earlier in his career, Jones worked for L.D. Brinkman, which became Beaulieu of America. After receiving multiple requests for commercial and residential installation jobs, he began his own retail business, Floors to You, where he spent 10 years serving his region. There he managed the standard business operations of the company and handled all flooring sales and installations.

John Thompson is also joining Happy Feet as a territory sales manager in Texas and will be responsible for attracting new clients, securing accounts and maximizing profitability near and around the Austin area. The native Texan has been in the floor covering industry for many years, leading him to start his own retail business—Floors Unlimited in Lufkin, Texas. Thompson also has prior experience with L.D. Brinkman, and most recently worked for Shaw Industries.

Andy FriedlanderAndy Friedlander is Happy Feet’s new territory sales manager for the eastern North Carolina region. His past experience includes work as a territory sales manager for Shaw Industries, where he managed almost 80 flooring accounts. In addition to navigating the daily ins and outs of the flooring business, he used his flooring knowledge to run product classes for retail sales associates.

Before his nearly 20 years in the flooring industry, Friedlander played football for Southern Connecticut State University, where he was a starting defensive back.  His love for the game grew from this experience and he went on to coach football for 17 years for various colleges and universities.  This greatly strengthened his leadership skills, which he brings with him to Happy Feet International.
