Stanley Martin Homes, in conjunction with HomeAid Northern Virginia, will break ground on May 15th for a new home to provide housing for adolescent girls at the Youth For Tomorrow (YFT) facility. This 5,000 square foot home will allow YFT to expand the residential services currently offered from their 215-acre campus in Bristow, Va.
The Youth For Tomorrow organization provides residential, educational and counseling services to children, adolescents and families in need. YFT's residential treatment services provide adolescents much needed housing and therapeutic services at this campus, which includes a state and regionally accredited secondary school and recreation center in addition to residential units.
"This is a timely partnership, as we are currently very short on residential space, and this expansion will allow us to help more girls in crisis," said Dr. Gary Jones, CEO of Youth For Tomorrow. "We are extremely grateful to Stanley Martin and to HomeAid for taking on this project."
This new home is expected to be dedicated by the end of the year, and will allow YFT to expand their residential services to provide a safe, supportive and stable residence for up to 36 more girls, ages 11 -17, every year. The project is estimated to be valued at close to $700,000, and more than 20 members of the Stanley Martin Trades Council will be assisting with the project and have already pledged to donate over $500,000 of that cost in time and materials.
