scholarshipManchester, N.H.—CCA Global Partners recently honored two young entrepreneurs from within the company’s continental family with the Alan Greenberg Memorial Scholarship. Named for CCA’s late co-founder, Alan Greenberg, the scholarship is awarded annually to two college students that capture Greenberg’s passion for innovation, community and entrepreneurship, the group said.

The recipients are Stella Hehnly, a junior at West Virginia University in Morgantown, W.V., and the daughter of Joe Hehnly, owner of Carpet One of Morgantown, W.V.; and Gigi Riesenberg, a freshman at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the daughter of Steve Riesenberg, owner of Erie, Pa.-based Prosource.

Hehnly, enrolled in the university’s College of Business and Economics, is currently pursuing a degree in hospitality and tourism management with a minor in marketing. She’s maintained a 4.0 GPA and has completed over 200 hours of volunteer work with her school’s Women in Business Club. She’s currently on track to graduate college a year early, and regularly attends local business group meetings with her father. According to CCA Global, Hehnly aspires to own a bakery.

“I hope to use my skills to grow my business into a profitable enterprise successfully,” Hehnly said.

Riesenberg is currently a freshman pursuing a degree in exercise science at Xavier University, but is already a rising star in her local business community, according to the group. While still in high school, Riesenberg founded Bygigi, a company that specializes in custom t-shirts. The business continues to grow, and she said she hopes to expand into self-care, nutrition and fitness.

“As an owner of a growing business, there are many responsibilities, including marketing, especially through social media,” Riesenberg noted. “Being ethical, appropriate and aware of what is going on in the world are all part of a media presence.”

CCA Global Partners will be accepting applications for its 2021 Alan Greenberg Scholarship Program through June 1, 2021.
