Love Scandi Style? Check Out These Coloring Books
We have some colorful news: two of our absolute favorite Swedish design inspirations are coming out with coloring books this year.
Swedish Modern: A Coloring Book of Magical Interiors (July 18)
For lovers of Scandinavian design—specifically design company Svenskt Tenn—you’ll the be thrilled that the coloring book contains images, sketches and texts documenting the bold designs of Josef Frank and Estrid Ericson’s gorgeous interiors.
In 1934, Ericson hired Frank to Svenskt Tenn, and the professional pair soon garnered international attention with exhibitions at the Paris and New York World Fairs. After 80 years, the company is still synonymous with Swedish modern design.
“We are immensely proud and delighted over Thames & Hudson’s decision to feature Svenskt Tenn in a coloring book,” says Thommy Bindefeld, Marketing Director at Svenskt Tenn. “The book Swedish Modern lets you enjoy Svenskt Tenn interiors in a new, innovative fashion. Readers are also encouraged to use their imagination to add personal flavor to our classic shapes and designs.”
Designer and author Lotta Jansdotter’s modern organic patterns always make us smile. They’ve adorned everything from fabric, cards, calendars, candles, and dishes, so we’re pretty excited that they’re soon to be available in coloring book form. Lotta Jansdotter Collection Coloring Book (April 4). The book contains over 45 pages of Lotta’s Scandinavian style illustrations, along with two pages of coloring stickers.
Luckily for you, we’ve got two coloring pages from the book available as free printables! Check them out below:
