FrogTape® Painter's Tape Invites Entries for Earn Your Stripes® Room Makeover Contest

Whether you're adding character to a chair or renewing your wall color, paint is the easiest way to customize your home. To encourage homeowners to make 2015 the year to heighten their home's appeal, FrogTape® brand painter's tape is inviting all to enter its Earn Your Stripes® room makeover contest.

DIYers are welcome to submit their best painting projects using FrogTape, and for the first time, the public will choose the top three winners. Submissions may be entered from April 1, 2015 through July 1, 2015 for an opportunity to win the grand prize of $5,000 cash.

To enter the contest, DIYers must submit images documenting their process with before, during and after shots of their transformation using FrogTape. Once the entry period closes, a panel of FrogTape judges will pick the top six projects based on workmanship, originality and complexity. Starting July 13th, FrogTape will then leave it up to the public to vote for their favorite.  First place will take home $5,000; second place will receive $2,500; and third place will collect $1,000. In addition, each contestant who submits an approved entry will receive a roll of FrogTape Multi-Surface to help complete future painting projects and achieve professional-looking results.

"The FrogTape Earn Your Stripes contest is now in its fifth year, and we're amazed at how the entrants always up the creative ante. We're confident that 2015 will be no different, and we look forward to the submissions," said Kristin Osinski, senior media manager, ShurTech Brands, LLC.  "More than ever, homeowners are looking for the best way to personalize their space; the Earn Your Stripes contest is here to encourage them to elevate their painting projects from plain to Pinterest-worthy."

Whether contestants are novice painters or DIY enthusiasts, the following FrogTape products will add crisp, paint lines and fun, on-trend patterns to project submissions:

  • FrogTape® Multi-Surface: a medium-adhesion painter's tape for use on an array of surfaces including cured painted walls, wood, metal and glass
  • FrogTape® Delicate Surface: a low-adhesion painter's tape that can be applied to fresh paint (that has dried for at least 24 hours), wallpaper and faux finishes. The tape's lower level of adhesion helps to prevent surface damage
  • FrogTape® Shape Tape™: a pre-cut painter's tape available in repetitive patterns, including Chevron, Scallop and Wave
  • FrogTape® Textured Surface: a painter's tape which enables users to achieve sharp paint lines on the most common textured surfaces such as knockdown and orange peel

FrogTape offers the only painter's tapes treated with patented PaintBlock® Technology. PaintBlock reacts with the water in latex paint to form a micro-barrier against paint bleed, providing the cleanest, sharpest lines possible. There are a number of tapes available within the popular family of FrogTape products, including FrogTape Multi-Surface, FrogTape Delicate Surface, FrogTape Shape Tape and Textured Surface. No matter what your painting project needs are, FrogTape is dedicated to providing an easy taping solution.
