This Old House's 2016 Idea House Features AZEK Decking

AZEK®, the building industry's leading maker of high-performance and technologically advanced decking, will be featured on This Old House's 2016 Idea House, a house built for visitors to tour to draw home design inspiration. The Farmhouse at Emerson Green—which is built to achieve maximum energy efficiency at affordable prices—combines classic farmhouse appeal with the sustainability and fresh, modern design of the 21st century. AZEK's premium decking and trim is featured throughout the 1,900 square-foot farmhouse, which can be toured from July 30 to September 25.

The 2016 Idea House features AZEK decking in Island Oak from the Harvest Collection with traditional trim. AZEK Deck's Harvest Collection is made with the latest and most innovative materials, and is resistant to stains, scratches, splitting, mold, mildew, moisture and insects. All AZEK Deck products carry an industry-best 30-year fade and stain and limited lifetime warranties.

"AZEK's commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and versatility made it a natural fit for This Old House's 2016 Idea House," said Julia Fitzgerald, AZEK's chief marketing officer. "Our products represent the best of both beauty and science, and our unparalleled decking consistently takes the appearance and engineering of homes to the next level."

Design enthusiasts can visit This Old House's Farmhouse at Emerson Green at 28 Chance Street in Devens, Massachusetts. It boasts three bedrooms, three full baths, a deep front porch and two back decks made from premium AZEK materials, and a two-car garage. The Idea House exemplifies high-value and quality construction, with an emphasis on energy efficiency and low-maintenance, long-lasting materials.

"The idea driving the development of this house is achieving maximum energy efficiency at affordable prices. That means using low maintenance, long-lasting materials like AZEK decking," said Claudia Jepsen, VP of marketing for This Old House. "By mixing and matching both classic and modern styles, we've been able to create a sustainable, durable farmhouse that's perfect for young families."

The 2016 Farmhouse at Emerson Green is officially opening its doors to the public on July 30 with a grand opening block party. The event will include house tours, live music, raffles and children's activities. The Idea House will then be open to the public through September 25.
