Florim’s Nature Mood receives Green Good Design Award 2023

The Collection Nature Mood has been honoured with the Green Good Design Award 2023, the “green” version of the international Good Design Award that annually celebrates outstanding examples of sustainable design.

Nature Mood was recognised for its ability to combine design and beauty with a focus on sustainability, environmental protection and energy saving, thus obtaining the prestigious seal certifying global excellence in sustainable design. Out of hundreds of entries received from over 32 countries, Nature Mood was selected in the “Green Product/Graphic Design” category.

These large ceramic slabs are an example of circular economy, in that they are the result of a sustainable production process that recovers and reuses 100% of raw waste and 100% of wastewater. Florim, which is B Corp certified, can self-generate up to 100% of the electricity required for its Italian based facilities thanks to the presence of two cogeneration plants and a plant engineering set-up with 12.3 MWp of power generated from 64,000 m2 of photovoltaic panels. When solar energy is insufficient, the company procures power only from renewable sources.

“We are proud to receive this prestigious award for the second year running. It testifies to our commitment to innovation and sustainability. The well-being of people and the planet is at the heart of Florim’s daily operations and an integral part of a path we have taken which aims to reduce our environmental impact”, says Claudio Lucchese, Chairperson of Florim SpA SB.

In recent months, Nature Mood also received the Archiproducts Design Awards 2022 and the Sustainability Award.

The Green Good Design Award, which examines sustainable products, buildings, and urban projects annually, was established in 2008 as the “green” version of the “Good Design Award” sponsored by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Projects. In 2021 Florim received the “Sensi” collection award.
