Another show is in the books and although it’s been a busy week “back at the ranch”, I’ve been dying to share my finds with you right here on Artful Kitchens. Las Vegas was host to three days of networking and education for the best of the Kitchen & Bath industry. White still reigns. I can IKON.

You can’t think of Mexican tile without picturing colorful, hand-painted designs. Deep, rich colors are then painted over the white. The beauty in handmade or hand-painted tile is that the glaze and embellishments will vary in color. Talavera hand-painted tile, used on the risers of a staircase, adds instant drama.

Florida, August 2016 – Before and afters are such a fun part of design, reminiscing the old and celebrating the new. However, I did refinish the tub and paint the outside the same color as the vanity. You’ll notice the paint is gorgeous, and yes, my clothes are all stained now. and it can serve as a shower and tub.

2016 is off to a great start. I’ll soon be heading to the annual Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas (KBIS) to immerse myself in everything new the industry has to offer. Today I’ll finish up my pondering of events during Art Week in Miami by segueing back into the kitchen realm.
The Perfect Bath

To start, for the guest powder bath I have selected the Waterworks Compass pendant in unlacquered brass. The room is a very small bath squeezed around a very large chimney. I love the Compass light, especially in brass, and have decided that despite the bath’s diminutive size, mixing finishes was the thing to do.
