The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) will exhibit tiled benches designed by their students, and the Chicago Mosaic School will provide interactive educational classes. Teams of students will then collaborate to create benches that incorporate tile and stone as the primary construction material.

The circle and rectangular pinwheel mosaic relates to the rectangular field tile on either side of the stove, and the accent band in between marries both shapes. Here, a recycled glass mosaic from Architectural Ceramic’s Tozen Collection was used to create the backsplash. Tozen 1×4 glass mosaic.

Ergon –Cornerstone – a nice variety of stones looks gathered into one line: Slate Multicolor is very nice! Serenissima- Chicago –(aka Mediterranea’s Chicago Brick) is a wonderful take on the brick look in a 4”x8” and hexagon with a beautiful radius outside corner. Edilgres – nice concrete/stone look.
