To overcome the previously fragmented pockets of restrictive spaces, the studio removed the solid walls in the living area and built movable see-through bookcases between the study and the kitchen. The additions effectively define the spaces without closing off one from another.

These open up the space by raising beds off the floor, adding storage and other creative options. As a side note, the design above shows how some creative blankets and sheets can add to the design. Placing a bed in an alcove creates an instant mini master bedroom or guest sleep quarters. A simple curtain allows for that privacy.
