Remodeling market sentiment down in Q2

Washington, D.C.—The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) released its NAHB/Westlake Royal Remodeling Market Index (RMI) for the second quarter, posting a reading of 68, edging down two points compared to the previous quarter. “Remodeler sentiment remains positive even though the median price of a bath remodel has risen to $40,000 and the median price of a kitchen remodel to $75,000 as seen in NAHB’s latest survey,” said NAHB chief economist, Robert Dietz.

Washington, D.C.—Continuing a trend of slowing price growth that began in 2022 , overall prices of building materials were unchanged in June, according to the latest Producer Price Index (PPI) report. The index has gained 0.5% year to date and has not increased 1% or greater in any month since March 2022.
