If you want a bold and modern look, or have a bit more space to work with, try a striking dark wood look. On floors it is common practice to use a grout joint of around 3-5mm, although some rectified porcelain tiles can be fitted with a more narrow joint. Use spacers to ensure the joints are even.

I have removed and replaced solid cultured marble and 4x4 and 6x6 tile on a shower floor because eventually the grout failed water invaded the space. Over time the grout turned a dark color never to return to the brilliant white that once existed. The dark color is because mold is creeping up from under the tile.
