In 2002, they founded Peace Industry in the Bay Area, working with craftspeople who made each rug by hand in their own workshop in Iran, using those traditional felting techniques. The couple rallied and eventually found new production facilities in Turkey. MELINA RAISSNIA: The inspiration came from Heath tiles, wallpaper, and colors.
