However, I did refinish the tub and paint the outside the same color as the vanity. In addition, because the bathroom doesn’t have windows for added natural light, I selected light neutral colors to brighten it up. I wanted to keep the farmhouse feel in the above photos, but modernize it for our family today.

When you look at Bath 2, imagine it on the right-hand side and not the left. I am clearly Bath #2 and my wife is Bath #1 – which is the side with the much larger bath and closet. Yellow-ish and brown … possibly the two worst colors one could use in a bathroom. Care to guess which bathroom is mine?

A Kitchen’s Stained Black Floor :: A Modern Look when Refinishing Old Wood Floors

On the Minwax color wheel, it/they (our floor finish) resembled say a Golden Oak. This was the color of our kitchen floor when it came time to sell to the house. Applied with a brush, pad or even a cloth, color and tone is a very hands on process. I retained two-foot lengths from demo partly for this purpose.
