The coolest part about it is that it allows for an indoor-outdoor living style with a wonderful deck. The cool thing about it is that you can add a roof deck or a porch area. The wooden deck that seems to extend from the house floors features built in lights and the additional awning and roof increase sun protection.

We knew that the bulk of the main and upper floor air handling was contained in a low roof that we were “planning” to turn into an out-door deck. Over burgers while standing around the kitchen island, the news that the ceiling height between two adjoining rooms is 1-3/8” inch off doesn’t come as a surprise. Of course it is.

The city where this project is being built has a development standard in place that dictates all sorts of whacky things in their attempts to ensure that the buildings are architecturally considered. Another project that we are working on is the renovation and refurbishment of a 1980’s era speculation built office building in Dallas.
