I met a whole new group of people, like Rick Meyer of Carpetland USA, the second largest chain in the country. Back then the University of Indiana had a two-week graduate course in carpet retailing. We were co-chairmen of the Billion Dollar Sale, which raised the level of sales in the entire industry. Rick was my mentor.
