Q: We are installing stone tile on an exterior balcony. The waterproofing contractor is placing a membrane directly over the existing, non-sloping slab, and we have been asked to create the draining slope with the mortar bed and tile. The setting bed beneath the tile will achieve varying levels of saturation. Is this acceptable?
