Cohen entered the stone industry in the 1970s, joining her father Malcolm in the family business, then known as Domestic Marble and Stone. In 1998, Cohen became president of the Marble Institute of America (MIA). She also inspired the association to create a natural stone Lookbook to streamline how R.I.S.E.

I am employed at Coldspring, in Cold Spring, MN (formally known as the Cold Spring Granite Company) where I head up the sales and marketing for the company and have been in the stone industry with Coldspring since 1977. However, more needs to done to emphasize safety and best practices in the quarrying and installation of natural stone.
