Last week I attended the awards celebration of New England Chapter Institute of Classical Architecture and Art held at the State House in Boston, a fabulous Charles Bulfinch building built in 1798 with later additions. It is an architectural treasure and I urge you to take time to visit the next time you are in Boston.

Quarry Tour Takes Industry to Elberton and Tate Georgia - Brings the Marble Institute of America and Elberton Granite Assocation Together

For years, the Marble Institute of America (MIA) has led study tours to quarries around the USA, Canada, and abroad. Approximately 120 blocks of stone are quarried weekly and shipped to Massachusetts by rail for curbing. Tate, Georgia and the Georgia Marble Quarry that has hosted several MIA tours over the years.
