In Brazil all kitchen counters were cheap white marble back in the, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s. Put carrara in one bath, and Brazilian travertine in another. We lived in a house with light counter tops and dark floors; I could never tell when the counter was clean and the floor always looked filthy. Personally, I like this.
