For years, the Marble Institute of America (MIA) has led study tours to quarries around the USA, Canada, and abroad. The 2014 tour took place in Georgia, USA - a state rich in both historic and modern day stone activity. The first stop on the Elberton tour was the Keystone Quarry. monument production.

I had the privilege of going to Spain in November to witness the MIA receive a Macael Award, as well as learn more about the local stone market in the Macael region. Membership in Canada is approaching ten (10%) percent as well with the balance (roughly 80%) being in the U.S. OSHA and Health Canada. 2015 Initiatives / Goals.
