At the jobsite a dump truck would drop maybe a yard or two of sand, then I had to unload many bags of portland cement. Then I would mix sand and cement to a specific consistency then carry it in 5 gallon buckets to the worksite inside the house. Grout was a cement based material but color was added if one wanted colored grout.

We think the unexpected pops of color and patterns add interest and energy to these spaces! Its a great example of how different sizes of decorative tile are used to bring both pattern and color to a design. The Ryans used a unique way to lay out the tiles that really focused on scale and size rather than color and pattern.
