I asked the contractor about why there were so many framers working on this one area and it’s because they were there to install the decking on the floor of the main house but had to wait on the city inspector to show up (he was running late).

In addition, we made the deck both bigger AND smaller at the same time (that’s the kind of architectural magic we perform at my office). In the end, we removed this feature because the expense didn’t warrant its inclusion into the final product. We made the deck area here considerably larger and added a seating area.
