The existing concrete deck is not sloped. There is no industry document, to my knowledge, that mandates or even encourages the incorporation of an arris, yet it is far more common to include it than to eliminate it. We also use standard deviation. Q: We are installing stone tile on an exterior balcony. Is this acceptable?

We knew that the bulk of the main and upper floor air handling was contained in a low roof that we were “planning” to turn into an out-door deck. In the end it seemed that all parties came to a solution that would allow for an outdoor deck and a proper air supply. 1:45pm Bob and I were left to measure the house.

I asked the contractor about why there were so many framers working on this one area and it’s because they were there to install the decking on the floor of the main house but had to wait on the city inspector to show up (he was running late).

In addition, we made the deck both bigger AND smaller at the same time (that’s the kind of architectural magic we perform at my office). We also redesigned the deck off the master bedroom so that there was a generous seating area available. We made the deck area here considerably larger and added a seating area.
