These were 2 x 3 fine-cut flagstones about an inch and eighth thick. Adding the width of the timbers (again 3 ½”) to these dimensions, I then marked the back outside corners of the pad’s footprint with a spot of marking paint. To help visualize, I simply laid down the bluestones.
