Hand-crafted from natural clay deposits, authentic Saltillo tile can only come from one place in the world - Saltillo, in the state of Coahuila in Mexico. Saltillo tiles are shaped either by pressing quarried clay with a wooden frame, or by carving out the desired shape.

The neighborhood is also bordered by The Alamo Quarry Market , which has a Whole Foods, a movie theater and more than 75 shops and restaurants. Some great local restaurants include Mediterranean grill Casa del Kabob , Taqueria Mexico and hole-in-the-wall Mendez Cafe. Some areas are also bicycle-friendly.
