Hand-crafted from natural clay deposits, authentic Saltillo tile can only come from one place in the world - Saltillo, in the state of Coahuila in Mexico. After they spend some time drying in the sun, the tiles are moved to the kiln.

The neighborhood is also bordered by The Alamo Quarry Market , which has a Whole Foods, a movie theater and more than 75 shops and restaurants. Some great local restaurants include Mediterranean grill Casa del Kabob , Taqueria Mexico and hole-in-the-wall Mendez Cafe. Some areas are also bicycle-friendly.
