The image above shows the intricate detail that was put into floor mosaics. Patterns ranged from geometric designs, decorative mosaics, family crests, and depictions of Christian scenes and symbols. Small decorative mosaics or floor tile with the ever-common fleur-de-lis? The cost of producing and exporting was high.
