This is a stellar example of a white on white bath. A double vanity with Henry lavatory fittings in unlaquered brass (note the shelf for storage) and an Empire tub with an exposed bath mixer with hand shower. There is a lot of activity in this bath, all completely coordinated.

The recent renovation of our Washington, DC showroom has given us multiple opportunities to think about the bath in new and sometimes bold ways. And the vanity’s white gray linear marble countertop, called Zephyr, is a sharp contrast to the intricacy of the wall design.

Last week I featured a very complex white bath installed in the Waterworks Washington, DC showroom. By comparison, this deceptively simple white bath is an exercise in restraint with its’ own level of architectural detail. A small piece of art on the window sill along with 2 large candles make the bathing space inviting.

On a magical spring day, I had the good fortune to visit to the newly opened Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C., The rooms, conceived by founder William Wilson Corcoran in 1859, evoke European grandeur with elaborate architectural moldings, a grand staircase, emphasis on tall ceilings and beautiful original marble floors.
