As the emerging profession of interior designer began to increase in popularity in the 1920s, so did the opulent and sophisticated art deco styles. Inspired by the glamour of early Hollywood, coupled with exotic influences from the Orient, Africa and Egypt, art deco made its way into every room of the house – including the bathroom.

Durable – historic tiles from Egypt and China have shown us that ceramic is long lasting. Comes in many colours and designs. Tiles made from porcelain will often have rectified edges, allowing for thinner grout joints. Ceramic is a combination of clay, sand and water, moulded into shape and then baked in a kiln.
