'I''ve been working on our new store in Westbury, (Long Island) New York and have come across some great new items for the bath. Here are some of my favorite new bath accessories for 2011- can''t wait to use them in some of the stores! From West Elm - some great new shower curtains: Some cute new ceramic soap dishes from Potterybarn. These charming soap dishes are molded to look like three Victorian bathroom furnishings: a claw-foot tub, a sink and a mirror vanity.

A nice young man named Jeff, helps me find the tile I had imagined. He sharpens his pencil and rips off a piece of fresh clean white paper. He looks faraway and taps his pencil gently on his forehead. After a moment, a gentle smile crosses his face and his eyes light up.

'I got a request from Fred in Des Moines for some ideas- he has a customer who wants a retro bathroom without black. I would suggest using our white subway tiles with either some glass or ceramic mosaics to infuse some color. Also- our glass subway tiles would be perfect for this! Just add a white hex floor- and you''ll have a cool retro look.

'I was at a "Holiday Boutique Party" a couple of nights ago at a home in Eden Prairie. I did not know the home owners, but you could see that they had recently redone their kitchen/family room. 'I want to make sure everyone knows about the new 5 x 30 (2" x 12") size in the Imperial Bianco Collection. You should have received your boards within the last 3 weeks. This size also has coordinating bullnose. I can''t wait to use it in the stores! It takes a traditional tile (the classic white subway) and makes it unique with the interesting dimensions.

'They have just announced the new Pantone Color of the Year for 2011, " Honeysuckle "! This reddish-pink hue is "dynamic and uplifting". According to Pantone, "it is a brave new color, for a brave new world. In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits, perfect to get rid of the blues".

'Green Jello Salad As long as I can remember at every holiday meal my mom would always make this recipe. It has become a mandatory staple at all holiday meals. The recipe was handed down to my mother from my great grandmother McCauley whom I have wonderful childhood memories. When ever the holiday menu is being planned it is always the first thing I request and there have been only a few instances when we have not had it at our family gatherings.
