This bath redo delivered huge benefits to the homeowners (Photo Courtesy: Jamie Gold Kitchen and Bath Design). Replace slick, polished floors with anti-slip tiles. There’s no worse combination than wet feet and slippery floors. Make sure your vent fan works and use it! They tend to be quiet, too.

It also made me wish we used more ceramic shower floors here in the US! This steampunk-inspired ceramic lamp is interesting for a modern industrial or eclectic bath. These may not make it to the US market, but they do show the current trends in European bath fixtures. It was fun seeing what’s trending in Europe.

The beauty and finesse of gold also appears in relief pieces, which are subtle and almost non-existent, mimicking the chromatic hues of the floor and wall tiles. Gold comes into the picture and take center stage as accent pieces. In 2015 Naturals, Framed, Tempus Fugit (Time Flies), Free Disposition and Sensory Memory were main themes.

I’m a huge fan of aging in place design, as many of you know, which is why I usually specify comfort-height toilets for my bath projects. I have always purchased them for my own homes, too. Now, it turns out, I may not have been doing any of us a favor! Who knew??? For the other component, well, more fiber is usually helpful.
