Grout haze removal after a newly installed tile floor is necessary now more than ever. These days tiles are made to look like grouted wood floors. The customer typically wants a dark colored grout. This grout haze has to be cleaned off carefully. Too much water in the cleaning can cause the color in the grout to wash out.

You can help the tiles stick using a primer painted to the underneath of the tile, but this is messy and time consuming – especially since you have to be careful to remove it from the sides and surface of the tile immediately. Once these have hardened the tiles can be installed using a suitable external tile adhesive.

I didn't notice it until I got home but sure enough there were two bold blotches of the Mastic adhesive I was using. Almost all of my Tee shirts end up being painting shirts at some point but from now on I am spending more time removing offending substances like Red Guard, Thinset, Mastic, Epoxy Grout and plain grout.
