A new report by Houzz reveals that kitchen renovations are still the most popular remodel – and also the most expensive. In 2018, the kitchen was the top interior room renovation among homeowners who renovated last year. The report also notes that costs are rising. Homeowners are recreating designer kitchens.

The transitional bathroom is the most popular bathroom design style, according to the 2019 Bathroom Design Trends report by the National Kitchen + Bath Association. This bathroom style commonly uses wood grain, painted wood and mixed materials with decorative hardware. Other options include luxury vinyl, ceramic wood or marble.

Cement tiles are made with a mixture of cement, sand, pigment, and marble powder and are compressed with 2,000 pounds of pressure to seal in the design. Ceramic tiles are painted with a powdered glaze or clay and are fired in a kiln. Cement and ceramic tiles look very similar, but cement tiles are much more durable.
