Ventilated facades from Tile of Spain companies can be found in projects around the world. In 2014, architecture group Building Jeongrim was completed the design of the Polo Station for the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea. The project brought promises of cutting edge athletic facilities, while simultaneously making a commitment to the environment by using ecofriendly materials such as Tempio ventilated ceramic façades by Mayor Ceramics.

Good morning! I have a very stylish bathroom from Chrisopher Hoglan in our Sunset Hills, MO showroom to share with you today. He features the Legno Scuro on the floor, the large herringbone mosaic and petite strips in the shower and the Austin weave mosaic around the tub. What a creative tile design! Every now and again, someone will try to convince me that the design process is faster using computer software than sketching. I used to respond to those comments, try to build an intelligent perspective of why I inherently don’t believe this is true, but now, I rarely bother. Just like talking politics or religion, the “sketching versus computer” debate rarely seems to change anybody’s mind.

We found this great display of Wow by Colli at Sterling Carpet One in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Showing off dramatic variation of the Autumn colorway, they used a herringbone pattern to create a stunning and dynamic display in their showroom. Good morning! I have some cool customer photos to share with you today. They feature some of our new tile…I haven't seen some of this product installed before, so it's fun to see! This first photo is a bathroom designed by Steve Rudolph in our Holland, OH showroom. His manager Jim Pipitone said, "The Cleopatra silver is his favorite by far…. I swear he has sold it for over 5 projects so far. this is the first one we got pictures on.

From using patterned cement tiles on the walls to the installation of decorative water jet-cut mosaics and highly varied 2cm mosaics, we like to inspire our clients to use materials, fittings and fixtures for their own projects in new and different ways.

We are in full swing at Heath LA with our Home Plate Dinnerware Exchange. Vanessa Pateman, our Heath Gives Coordinator, shares some insight into this annual program and why it’s important to us: For the whole month of August, we are accepting donations of used dinnerware in exchange for new Heath pieces at a 20% discount.* The used dinnerware is then donated to Skid Row Housing Trust , who provides permanent housing support to individuals in need in our Los Angeles community.

Widawscy Studio Architektury completed the design of D74 , a modern minimalist residence in Tarnowskie Góry, Poland. According to the architects, on the first floor you will find a private area for the residents: bedroom, bathroom, dressing room and daughter’s room. There's nothing like a day at the pool—or lake, or ocean—to combat the humidity and heat of an August afternoon. Failing any of those options, I'd settle for some time in a space that's enclosed in these porcelain—yes, porcelain—panels that mimic a milky blue agate. Because they're translucent, they're spectacular when backlit, but even without illumination, the material has a near magical depth to it.

GIO recently played a part in the design of Agility Fuel Systems’ new 204,000 square foot production facility in Salisbury, North Carolina. The design team for this world class facility chose Midtown by GIO in Anthracite, 18 x 36, in matte finish, for the employees’ combination restroom and locker room.

For the last 15 years, Athens, Georgia-based photographer Rinne Allen has documented the work and process of myriad prominent chefs and artisans, including Natalie Chanin, one of our frequent (and favorite) collaborators. A selection of Rinne’s work is currently part of the Alabama on Alabama show in the Boiler Room at Heath SF, sharing the story of organic cotton from field to fabric.

Architect Aarón Carrillo of Carrillo Architects and Associates imagined a stunning cantilevered home built on a trapezoidal plot of land in Temozón, on Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula. Spreading over 1,167 square meters, this cantilevered home was named the Temozón House after its location. The street facade showcases little of what is to be found inside.
